Miriya, Jordan, Ray Shero, & Therrien stood in the airport waiting for the plane from Germany to land. It was August third & training camp would be starting in a month & the season in two. The plane finally landed after they had been waiting for an hour & people started to file out of the gate. A guy who looked to be about seventeen walked out & you could tell that he was a hockey player. Miriya knew who he was because she had been there when he was drafted. He was about six foot two with long brown hair, about the length of Geno`s now & deep blue eyes.
"Hello everyone I`m John & this is Dominik," the man with Dominik said.
"Hi," everyone said.
Once they got Dominik`s stuff they made their way to the car. They threw the bags in the back of Miriya`s car, John & Dominik got in the back & they were off to Miriya & Jordan`s house.
"This will be your room, make yourself at home," Miriya said after taking Dominik to the guest room.
"Thank you very much," he said in very good English, but with a strong German accent.
"You`re welcome, is there anything you need Dominik?"
"Please call me Nik & when's dinner?"
"Not for a while Nik, there`s a five hour time difference from Germany. But do you want to go out for dinner or do you want me to make something?"
"Either one is fine with me."
"Ok, well I`m gonna go make dinner, but you can unpack & watch TV if you want."
"Ok, thank you again."
Miriya walked out to the kitchen just as Jordan was walking in the front door from dropping John off at his house.
"So what have you been up to since I left?" he asked.
"Just helping Nik get settled in."
"Nik?"
"Dominik, the kid staying in our guest room, he told me that he wants to be called Nik."
"Oh, I didn`t know he spoke English."
"I didn`t either."
Miriya made chicken & pasta for dinner, which the three of them ate out on the patio.
"This is very good Miriya, thank you."
"You`re welcome Nik, so I was thinking, that we could show you around town tomorrow & maybe go down to the arena soon."
"So you can get used to the ice," Jordan said.
Miriya & Jordan did the dishes then gave Nik a tour of the house.
"And this is my favorite part of the house; the backyard," Miriya said walking back out to the patio. "But you already saw it during dinner."
"Would we be able to go swimming?"
"Sure, go ahead & get changed & we`ll meet you back out here in a few minutes," Miriya said heading back to the house.
Everyone changed & went back out to the pool; Miriya & Jordan were the first into the pool & were sitting on the wall in between the deep & shallow ends. Nik walked out in a pair of black swim trunks, Miriya when she heard the kitchen door close & was surprised with what she saw. Nik was built; he had a six pack & looked good for only being seventeen.
'Oh my God, if he wasn`t five years younger than me & I wasn`t married...damn!' Miriya thought.
The next day Miriya, Jordan & Nik got ready & after breakfast went to explore the city. Over the next few weeks they went to all the museums, on a Gateway Clipper ride down the river, & on the incline.
"I would have taken you to Kennywood & Sandcastle, but Miriya wouldn`t have been able to go," Jordan said.
"But that`s something you can look forward to if you make the team," Miriya said with a smile. "Training camps next week, do you wanna go down & practice today?"
"Sure, has been awhile since I was out on the ice."
After breakfast everyone changed into their practice clothes, threw some sticks & pucks into the trunk & went to the arena. They parked in the player parking lot & went in the "locker room door".
"In all the time the arena's been here I don`t think the door's ever been locked," Miriya said with a laugh walking into the hallway.
"Some crazy fan could get in," Jordan said.
"Wouldn`t affect me, I`m never down here."
They walked into the locker room & were about to sit down to put their skates on when Miriya looked up & saw two people laying on the bench at one of the stalls.
"Jamesy?" Miriya said walking over to him.
He jumped & almost fell to the floor, "Hey Staalsy, what`s up?"
"Nothin` much, who you got in my locker room?"
"Oh this is my girlfriend Brooke Myers, Brooke this is my good friend & the Pens announcer Miriya Staal."
"Nice to meet you," Brooke said.
"You too."
Brooke was a pretty girl; she looked to be about seventeen or eighteen, which was good because James was nineteen. She was about five foot five, had long blonde hair & dark brown eyes; she was wearing Hollister jeans, a pair of black & white Converse & a short-sleeve ACDC shirt.
"Well we`ll let you get back to what you were doing, we`re just gonna let the rookie get used to the ice before training camp," Miriya said with a laugh.
"Oh Dominik right?" Brooke said. "I watched the draft this summer."
"Yea," Miriya said. "Nik this is James McGuire he`s a Pens defenseman & his girlfriend Brooke. Guys this is Nik Vandershmut & he`s this year`s first round draft pick."
Everyone talked for awhile then laced; Brooke & James laced up too just to help.
"Alright guys, no contact, that means you Jordan, we`ve got a baby to worry about."
Later that day after they had skated they went back to the house & each picked a bathroom to shower in. Jordan used the one attached to the bedroom, Nik the one attached to the guestroom, & Miriya used the one in the main hall.
Miriya was just getting out of the shower when the door creaked open. She quickly grabbed the towel next to her & wrapped it around herself.
"Oh Nik!"
"I`m so sorry," he said looking up."
"No it`s fine, do you need something?"
"There`s no shampoo in my bathroom."
"Oh," she handed him a bottle of shampoo.
"Again I`m so sorry," he said & walked out of the room.
Later that night Michelle & Sid were over for dinner, & they were all eating out on the patio.
"Michelle, I walked in on Miriya when she was getting out of the shower," Nik said in German.
"You did WHAT!?" she replied in German.
"Do you guys have any worst shire sauce?" Sid asked.
"No sorry, we`re out," Miriya said.
There was a long pause & Michelle & Nik looked at each other.
"How bout A1?" Sid asked again looking up from his steak.
"Nope sorry," Miriya replied again.
Again there was a pause.
"Sid I think I might have something in my purse, why don`t you go look."
"Michelle why do you have steak sauce in your purse?" Miriya asked.
"Always be prepared."
Sid & Jordan got up from the table & took their plates with them. They looked in Michelle's purse where they found a bottle of A1. They decided to let Michelle, Miriya & Nik talk so they stayed inside & ate at the coffee table in the living room.
Back out on the patio nobody was saying anything until Michelle decided to speak up, "So guys?"
"Yea that was really awkward," Miriya said.
"Miriya does Jordan know?" Michelle asked.
"No, but it`s no big deal. I`ll tell him later & I`m sure he`ll understand."
"I swear it was an honest mistake," Nik said.
"I know & Jordan`s an understanding guy."
"When Jamesy was hittin' on you last year," Michelle said with a laugh.
"Yea, he`s cool with Jamesy & I`m sure he`ll understand this."
Later that night Jordan was lying in bed when Miriya was in the bathroom brushing her teeth. She walked into the bedroom & sat down on the bed next to Jordan.
"Baby what was up with you & Nik at dinner?" he asked when she put her head down on his shoulder.
"Oh that...it`s not really a big deal," she paused. "This afternoon," she paused again. "Promise you won`t get mad at him?"
"Yes...wait did Nik do something?"
"No, well kind of. He walked in on me when I was getting out of the shower."
"WHAT?!" he paused. "He needs to go stay with someone else."
"Baby no, he`s a good kid & didn`t mean to. Training camp hasn't even started, baby just let him stay."
"I don`t know baby."
She moved so that she was straddling him & pushed him gently so that he was lying down. She ran her fingers through his hair & smiled. She kissed his cheek & he put his arms around her neck. He smiled, then their lips met & they both smiled into the kiss.
"Ok, he can stay," he said without pulling away.
The next morning Jordan rolled out of bed, put on a pair of Reebok shorts & a Bauer shirt & went to the kitchen to make breakfast.
"Morning baby," Miriya said putting her arms around Jordan`s waist.
"Hey baby," he turned to face her & gave her a hug. He kept his strong arms around her & looked into her eyes. "Baby you get more & more beautiful everyday."
She smiled & rested her head against his chest. "You smell good."
"That`s what you said when I was wearing my hoodie & you ended up with that, you wanna end up with this shirt too?"
"I wouldn`t mind, because then you would be shirtless."
"Thanks Captain Obvious," he said with a smile.
"You know what?"
"What?" he asked before kissing her.
"Morning guys," Nik while walking into the kitchen.
"Morning Nik," Miriya said after pulling away from Jordan`s soft kiss.
"So I head you guys talking last night & I`m all packed up, so who am I going to stay with?"
"Oh you head that?" Miriya asked & looked at Jordan.
"Well don`t worry about it, you`re staying here. So after breakfast you can go & unpack."
"Thanks Jordan for understanding."
"I know it was a mistake, it`s all good."

The next day Miriya was walking through the store trying to figure out what kind of chips she wanted. After finally picking up a bag of sour cream & onion chips she stepped back and ran into someone.
"I`m sorry," she said turing around.
"No it`s my fault," someone said with a familiar voice.
"Haley, Haley Brown?"
"Yea, Miriya?"
"Oh my God I haven`t seen you in years how have you been?"
"I`ve been good you?"
"Same I didn`t know you still lived in Pittsburgh."
"I don`t, I`m living in Chicago now & am engaged to Patrick Kane. I`m just here to visit."
"When are you leaving?"
"Tomorrow actually."
"Oh, are you busy tonight?"
"No we should do something, we need to catch up."
"Dinner with me & Jordan?"
"Sure why not."
They talked for a little longer than both went to check out. Just like every time as soon as Miriya walked out of the store & into the parking lot she was asked for her autograph. When she got home she put the groceries away then sat down on the couch next to Jordan & kissed his soft check.
"You wanna help me make dinner?" she asked.
"Sure, what`s the occasion?"
"My friend Haley's in from Chicago & I haven`t seen her in years."
"Ok what do you wanna make?"
"Burgers?"
And what would I do, you don`t let me touch the grill."
"You can make your special fries."
"Ok," he said & kissed her.
At Michelle & Sid`s house Chelle was sitting on the couch watching TV, & Sid was doing laundry in the basement.
"Oh shit, goddamn washer!"
Michelle ran downstairs where she found the laundry room covered in soap & water. "Baby I`m not gonna ask, just clean it up."
Sid cleaned up the mess then went back upstairs & found Michelle sitting on the couch. "I`m sorry about the mess baby, but it`s cleaned up & I re-washed the clothes that got all soapy.
"Good you should be sorry," Michelle said in a bitchy tone.
"Baby I think you should take a nap."
"You think I need a nap, why am I bothering you?"
"No baby, that`s not what I said."
"Maybe I will go take a nap," she said then stormed off to the bedroom.
An hour later Michelle came back into the living room where Sid was watching Rocky. She sat down on the couch next to him & kissed his check placing her hand on his chest.
"I take it you`re in a better mood now?" Sid asked putting his arm around her.
"Yea, I`m really sorry for being a bitch before, I`m not mad at you about the mess."
"I know baby, I guess I should get used these mood swings. I wonder how Jordan`s dealing with it all?"
Back at Jordan & Miriya`s the doorbell rang & Mo of course ran to the door barking.
"Mo down," Jordan said opening the door. "Hi Haley how are you?"
"I`m good, this is my fiancée Patrick, but you two already know each other."
"Jordan"
"Patrick."
They went into the living room & waited till Miriya said that dinner was ready.
"Can I get you guys drinks?" Jordan asked.
"Sure two beers," Haley said.
"And water right?" Jordan asked Miriya.
"Yep, thanks babe."
"Water, you`re lame," Haley said with a laugh.
"That`s about all I can drink with the baby coming."
"Aww you & Jordan are having a baby."
"Just another Staal to add to the league," Jordan said with a laugh.
After dinner they decided to go for a swim. Miriya mostly stayed in the deep end with Jordan & Haley & Patrick were splashing & dunking each other in the shallow end. But after a while they got bored & decided to play Marco Polo then just chill in the hot tub.
"So Jordan how's you cheek?" Haley asked.
"Good it healed pretty well actually."
About half an hour later they got out & got dressed. Miriya went to the kitchen to make hot chocolate while Jordan, Haley, & Patrick went & sat in the living room. Miriya was about to put the hot chocolate mix into the water when Jordan`s arms slid around her waist, then up to her stomach.
"How's my baby?" he asked.
"I`m fine."
"I wasn`t talking to you," he said & spun her around. "I was talking to the baby."
"Oh well the baby is fine," she said then Jordan kissed her.
"I love you baby," he said pulling away. "That time I was talking to you."
"Oh well I love you too."
"Hey guys are we gonna get hot chocolate soon?" Patrick said from the living room.
"Sorry about that." Miriya said hanging Haley & Patrick their hot chocolate.
"Well it was great catching up with you, but we really have to get going," Haley said.
"Ok I`ll see you guys at the start of the season," Jordan said.
"You`ll be the first to get an invitation the wedding."
"Thanks, bye guys," Miriya said.
Everyone hugged then Haley & Patrick left, Miriya went to start cleaning up.
"Baby don`t worry about it, I got it."
"Thanks babe, I`m gonna go take a shower."
Miriya showered while Jordan cleaned up then went & lay down. Her eyes were starting to close when Jordan walked in & sat down on the bed next to her. She crawled over to him & sat on his lap.
"I love you Miriya," He said & pulled the hair tie from her hair. Her long, black, wavy hair fell to her shoulders & Jordan smiled. "I love you hair."
"I love your`s too," she said running her fingers through his long dirty blonde hair. They stared into each others eyes then their lips met. "I love you," she said pulling away briefly.
"I love you too," he said as Miriya slid her hand up his thigh. He slid her shirt over her head & she did the same with his then ran her hand along his smooth muscular chest. She kissed his cheek, then his lips as he smiled; she pulled away & kissed down his chest & stomach to his belly button. He ran his hand down her arm, grabbing her hand she looked & kissed his soft lips again. He ran his hand along her cheek & pushed her hair to one side then kissed her neck. Up until this point Miriya had been straddling Jordan, she got up, slid further onto the bed, and laid down. Jordan crawled over & straddled her hips. He kissed her stomach, put his hands on the bed by her head & kissed the tip of her nose.
"I love you," he said then left a soft kiss on her smooth lips. She of course kissed back & deepened the kiss.
"You too," she said without pulling away from the kiss.
He pulled away & left a gentle kiss on her shoulder. She rolled over to her stomach & he started massaging her shoulders. He kissed down her back to the top of her shorts; she smiled & moaned into the pillow. He lightly slapped her ass & she turned her head so she could see him. They both smiled then he massaged her back, while doing so he kissed her neck & shoulders. He left one last kiss on her right shoulder blade after finishing the massage then kissed her cheek.
"You are the most amazing man I`ve ever met in my life," she said turning to lay on her back.
"I try," he said & kissed her. "You`re not too bad yourself."
"Oh, that`s how you feel about the person who's carrying your baby?" she asked with a smile.
"No baby, you are my pride & joy, you mean everything to me & I don`t know what I would do without you."
"Let`s hope we don`t find out anytime soon."
"Well you know that I will never leave you & I plan on spending the rest of my life with you, no matter how long that life may be," he said before kissing her.
"Goodnight baby," she said after pulling away.
"Goodnight love of my life," he said & kissed her cheek.
The next morning Jordan walked into the living room rubbing his eyes & found Miriya sitting on the couch.
"Morning baby, why are you wearing a hoodie, it`s the middle of July."
"Cause I found it this morning. I haven`t seen it in years & it used to be yours," she said with a smile. She uncrossed her arms to show him the front of the dark blue hoodie that said 'Thunder Bay'.
"I remember giving that to you."
They had been going out for about three months so it was early January, right before the Cats, Bolts, & Thrashers road trip. Jordan had picked Miriya up to take her to the game & was wearing a dark blue hoodie. When he got there he got out of the car to give Miriya a hug.
"Hey baby how was your day?" he asked as her walked into the driveway.
"Good your`s?"
"Good," he gave her a hug & kissed her.
When she pulled away she rested her head against his chest. "You smell so good," she said with a smile.
"Thank you."
They got in the car & went to the Mellon. Once they got into the locker room Jordan took his hoodie off & threw it to Miriya who was leaning against the counter in the lounge.
She smelled it again then asked, "What do you want me to do with it?"
"Keep it so you can always have a part of me with you."
Back at the house Miriya put her head down on his shoulder after he put his arm around her.
"I wore this hoodie all the time, until I moved in & I never remembered where it was."
"Well not that you found it you can start wearing it again."
"Sounds good to me," She said with a smile. "But for now I`m gonna take it off cause it`s hot, but I just wanted to show you that I found it."
'Buzz' Miriya`s phone vibrated on the coffee table.
"Hello?"
"Hey Scotty what`s up?"
"Nothing much Underwood you?"
"Um nothing really, what are you doing today?"
"Gonna go swimming you guys wanna come over?"
"Sure we`ll be over in a little bit."
Michelle & Sid got there about ten minutes later & everyone changed into their bathing suits. Everyone walked out to the pool & did a cannon ball into the deep end. After a while of messing around playing games, dunking, & splashing each other they got out of the pool & went over to the hot tub.
"You guys got plans for tonight?" Miriya asked.
"Nope," Sid said putting his arm around Michelle.
"We could have a movie night & you guys could stay here, we can lend you some clothes & there`s the spare bedroom.
"And there`s food left over from last night when Haley & Patrick were here," Jordan said.
Later they ate dinner at the table on the patio & had Kool-Aid.
"So that new guy they drafted this summer is coming over at the beginning of the month to get used to the city," Sid said.
"Dominik Vandershmut right? Jordan asked.
"Yep & he needs a place to live during training camp," Michelle said.
"Well he could live here, but if he makes the team he better like kids," Miriya said with a laugh.
"I`m sure he will, he doesn`t turn eighteen until September," Michelle said.
After dinner Sid & Jordan cleaned up & did the dishes while Miriya & Michelle went to the living room to pick out some movies. Jordan & Sid came out of the kitchen with chips, popcorn, & some IBC root beer.
"So what are we gonna watch?" Jordan asked sitting down on the couch next to Miriya.
"Pirates of the Caribbean & Miracle," Michelle said excitedly.
They watched Pirates of the Caribbean first & ate all the food & each drank two bottles of root beer.
"You guys wanna go for a swim before we watch the other movie?" Miriya asked while standing up to stretch.
They all changed into their bathing suits, turned on the patio lights, & jumped into the pool. They spent about half an hour in the pool then went inside to change. Everyone went to change into their pajamas before watching the second movie, Michelle & Sid borrowed some clothes from Miriya & Jordan. Miriya was wearing her old CAPA gym shorts & a t-shirt, Jordan was wearing a pair of blue Reebok sweat pants & a white t-shirt. Michelle had borrowed a t-shirt & a pair of Penguin pants, now Sid on the other hand walked back into the living room & everyone else just laughed. His shirt was Miriya`s favorite of Jordan`s it was gray, had a shamrock on the front & said LUCKY on the back. But the shirt was not what was so funny; the pants that he has borrowed were black & about four inches too long.
"Very sexy Sid," Miriya said looking at the pant legs that hung over Sid`s feet.
"I know right?"
"Hey it`s not his fault he`s like five inches shorter than me," Jordan said with a smile.
"Ok, let's just watch the movie," Michelle said sitting down on the couch.
They put the movie in; well Miriya did when she was forced to not be lazy. Instead of sitting back down on the couch next to Jordan she straddled his legs & put her arms around his neck.
"I have to say that that shirt look so much better on you," she said with a smile.
"Thanks, the pants do too."
"No Scotty, the pants look better off," Michelle said with a laugh.
"Very true Underwood, very true."
Sid picked up the remote to push play & they decided to watch the previews just to make themselves feel old. Think about it the movie did come out in like 2004.
"I love you baby," Miriya said then kissed him.
"And that is why you`re pregnant," Michelle said with a laugh.
"That's very true," Jordan said after pulling away.
"Ok guys let`s watch the movie," Sid said as the movie started.
Miriya got off Jordan`s lap & sat down next to him & rested her head on his chest. The movie ended at around mid-night, everyone was still awake but there was no food left on the table.
"I`m hungry," Miriya said when the credits started.
"Me too," Michelle said. "Ice cream?"
"Sounds good to me, boys you want some?"
"YAY, mid-night snack!" Jordan said jumping up off the couch.
"I`ll take that as yes," Miriya said with a laugh. "Sid?"
Sure, why not."
They all went to the kitchen & got four bowls & spoons. Jordan got the ice cream out of the freezer & Michelle opened up the fridge.
"YAY...chocolate syrup."
By the time they were done looking through the cupboards & the fridge there was a ton of stuff to pick from. Of course there was ice cream & chocolate syrup, but there was also sprinkles, cherries, pineapple, marshmallows, M & M`s, whipped cream, peanut butter, bananas, strawberries, caramel topping, gummy bears & chocolate chunks. All four of them piled everything on top of four scoops of vanilla ice cream.
"You boys are gonna have to work this off tomorrow," Michelle said taking a bite of ice cream.
"Yep, training camp is coming up & you need to be in shape," Miriya said. "We`re supposed to be fat."
"Scotty you got," she said pointing next to her lower lip.
"I`ll fix that," Jordan said then kissed her.
"Whoever said you get less sexual after you`re married didn`t know us," Michelle said with a laugh.
"Well guys I`m really tired, so I`m gonna go to bed," Miriya said after finishing her ice cream.
She put her bowl into the sink & headed to the bedroom. Jordan walked in & took his sweat pants off after closing the door.
"My favorite boxers," she said looking at his blue & white plaid boxers.
He smiled & got into bed next to her. He kissed her cheek then turned out lamp next to the bed. "Goodnight baby, I love you."
"Night babe, love you too."

On the morning of the ninth Sid rolled over in bed, "Happy Birthday," he paused realizing that Michelle wasn`t there. He walked in to the bathroom & saw Michelle sitting by the toilet leaning on the bathtub/ shower, her hair pulled back & drifting off. He leaned down & knelt next to her.
"Happy Birthday baby."
"Thanks baby," she said weakly. "For future reference, what would you wanna name our kids?"
"Elliott, Bradley, Dylan, Russell."
"Well you have nine months to decide on a name or two," she said with a smile.
His eyes lit up & he was glowing with happiness. She looked up & he kissed her stomach. "I guess those fantastic night paid off huh?"
Michelle laughed, Sid picked her up & couldn`t be happier. "I love you so much & I`m happier than ever before." He spun her around & ran his hand down her body, stopping at her lower stomach. "One more time for good measure?" he asked with a laugh.
"Sure one more."
"There`s something even more beautiful about you right now," Sid said as Michelle lay on the bed in Sid`s boxers & a bra. "I can`t wait."
"Me either," Michelle said & quickly got out of bed & ran to the bathroom. All Sid could do was laugh.
Later that day Miriya & Michelle were on their way to pick up some bagels. While they were at a red light Michelle asked, "So had it been hard for Jordan to keep his hands off you for the past month?"
Miriya giggled & smiled, "Is that a good answer?"
"Yea that`s good."
At the arena Jordan, Erik, & Kris went into the locker room & picked up Sid`s phone to call Brooksy & tell him to come to practice. Kris noticed that a little business card had fallen to the floor. He picked it up, giggled, & showed it to Erik.
Erik being the cute Canadian that he is yelled, "Why does Sid had an appointment at Magee!!!"
Jordan quietly looked over his shoulder, "Hmm maybe that`s where Mir & Michelle went this morning."
"We`re going to have a baby," Kris said.
Jordan laughed & just then coach Mike Yeo walked into the locker room. "Sid`s gonna have a baby!" "Sid`s gonna have a baby!" Erik said.
Mike hit him across the head & said, "Oh Crush, Sid isn't having a baby Michelle is. And so is Miriya...we have two on the way!"
The team walked in, found out & was really excited. Miriya & Michelle walked into the locker room, everyone clapped, & there was baby's breath at Sid & Jordan`s stall. Sid who had been warming up on the ice walked in with a surprised look.
"I guess you guys know."
"Yea but EC here thought it was you," Mike said with a laugh.
Practice took place then everyone went back to the locker room where they found Miriya & Michelle's parents & a birthday party for Michelle. After the team had showered everyone ate pizza & before cake Sid & Michelle walked to the center of the locker room & stood on the penguin.
"Everyone Michelle & I have an announcement to make."
"We`re going to have a baby!" Michelle said as everyone clapped.
"So you think that the league can handle another Crosby?" Max asked Michelle.
"As long as he`s as amazing as his daddy," she said & kissed Sid on the cheek.
"This was fun & all but why did we have this practice? I mean it`s July," Colby said.
"Army you knew this practice was gonna happen. We had it planned to celebrate Michelle's birthday but everyone didn`t want to fly in because of that. And since no one has touched the ice since we won the cup we figured that we'd practice so no one would lose their touch," Miriya said.
Everyone ate cake then it was present time, she got a lot of random assorted stuff. Then it came time for Colby to give his present.
"So your present is at your house," Army said.
"Umm...ok?"
Later that night Sid, Michelle, & Colby got home & went down to the basement. And there stood a set of wooden bunk beds.
"Oh my God Army this is amazing," Michelle said.
"I saw them & thought you could use them in the future, I didn`t think you would need them anytime soon. But I guess I was wrong."
"Aww thanks Army, Sid aren`t these beds amazing?"
"They are really nice, thanks Armpit."
"No problem, anyone wanna try them out with me?"
"I do," Michelle said with a smile.
"You have fun with that I`m going upstairs," Sid said & hugged Michelle.
"Goodnight baby," Michelle said & kissed him.
"Night man," Army said.
"Night Army, night Chelle," he said & went upstairs.
"Matching comforters," Michelle said with a smile. "Aww Army."
"And the bog down in the valley-o," both Army & Michelle sang. They had been singing camp songs for about an hour, then decided to say their prayers.
Sid had come down to the basement about twenty minutes after they had started singing & neither Michelle nor Colby knew.
"Hey Michelle," he said in a little kid voice.
"Yea Army?"
"You`re my best friend & I love you!" he said & poked his head over the edge of the top bunk.
"I love you too Arms always, you`re my BF4L."
A giggle was heard & it wasn`t Army or Michelle. They looked around & saw Sid sitting on a bean bag chair in the corner.
"I wish I would have taken you guys up on that offer," Sid said with a laugh.

Sttal [A Jordan Staal Story] Thirty-Eight

On the twentieth back in Pittsburgh all the girls were at Miriya`s & all the guys were at Sid`s having a good time. Of course there was drinking by everyone, everyone that is but Miriya.
"Miriya will you drink just one shot with us?" Michelle & Cassie asked.
"No guys I`m sorry, I`m enjoying my Pepsi, but I`ll drink a little champagne tomorrow during the speeches." At Sid`s house at about seven someone walked in who none of them had seen in a long time. Some of the younger players who had come in the last few years just looked as he walked into the kitchen where Sid, Geno, Colby, Flower & Jordan were.
"Ruuu," they all said & smiled.
"Hey guys how's it going?"
"Not bad, haven`t seen you since my wedding," Jordan said & hugged him.
"It has been a while."
They all talked & drank & everyone had a good time at both parties. The next morning everyone woke up & got ready for Cassie & Geno`s big day.
"You nervous big G?" Jordan asked.
"I didn`t think that I would be, but yea."
"If you`re nervous wonder how Cassie is?" Army asked.
Back at Miriya`s house all the girls were going each other's make-up. "You ready for your big day?" Sam asked.
"Yea, but this is a special day for you too, Happy Birthday."
"Thanks, but this is your day."
At three it was time & everyone was at St. Sebastian's; the same place where Miriya & Jordan got married. Geno was waiting while all the groom's men walked out. Marc-Andre Fleury, Georges Laraque, Ryan Malone, Colby Armstrong, Brooks Orpik, Ryan Whitney, Jarkko Ruutu, Max Talbot, Mark Eaton, Sid Crosby, & Chuck all stood in front of the church & looked handsome in their tuxes. The tuxes had black jackets, white shirts, silver vests & a black tie. The ushers who all sat in the front row wore the same tuxes & they were; AJ, Nathan, Big John, & the entire rest of the team. The bride's maid's dresses were silver, floor length, & had a silver satin strip across the top. Their bouquets were of red roses & some other flowers; the bride's maids walked down the aisle next. They were Lena M, Katie Custer, Sam K, Amanda K, Rachel T, Hannah R, Vicky S, Laura N, Lauren & Michelle. Miriya of course was the maid of honor like they had promised in fifth grade. Geno Jr. was the ring bearer & Marc-Andre's daughter Brittany was the flower girl. Her dress was white, poofy at the bottom, & spaghetti strap. Once they were half-way down the aisle everyone stood & Cassie started to walk down the aisle with her dad. Her dress was a white A-line, floor length, strapless dress, it had a long train, was sparkly on top & lacey on the bottom. Geno stood next to Jordan his best man & smiled as Cassie got closer. During the wedding as old friend named Mitch sang; then it came time for the exciting part.
"Cassie, at the moment I saw you, my heart skipped a beat & at that moment I knew it was meant to be. You were so beautiful in your 'Pens gear.' Since that moment I couldn`t imagine spending my life with anyone else, but you, I`m so glad that you came into my life." He paused then started speaking in Russian. "Cassandra Kristine Miller, I love you & I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Both Cassie & Geno smiled then Cassie started her vows, "Evgeni, I remember the first time that I met you in the locker room. I was so nervous, but when our eyes met I knew that it was love. These past two years have been amazing, & I can`t see myself with anyone else but you for the rest of my life. You surprised me at the point when you got down on one knee & asked for my hand in marriage. I love you Evgeni Vladamirovich Malkin, & I will always love you until death do us part."
"Do you Evgeni take Cassie to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have & to hold, to love & to cherish, in good times & in bad, in sickness & in health, for richer or poorer, til death do your part?"
"I do."
"Do you Cassie take Evgeni to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have & to hold, to love & to cherish, in good times & in bad, in sickness & in health, for richer or poorer, til death do your part?"
"I do," she said & looked at Geno; neither of them had stopped smiling the entire time.
"...I know pronounce you husband & wife, you may kiss the bride."
Cassie put her arms around Geno`s neck & their lips met. "I love you," Cassie said when they pulled away.
"I love you too."
As everyone was leaving the church Miriya`s brother Thom & Miriya`s dad played bagpipes & everyone blew bubbles as Cassie & Geno walked out. As with the pervious two weddings the close family, team, & bridal party stayed for pictures while the rest of the guests headed to the reception which was being held at Blueberry Hill Park. Once pictures were over everyone else headed to the reception hall.
At the hall there were circle tables, every other table cloth was either white or silver alternating throughout the hall. The chair covers were white & the whole atmosphere was very formal. The food was from Sam`s catering service, but Sam didn`t have to do any of the work & she was happy about that. On a side table sat a three layer marble cake, it had white icing & red roses in random places, there was also cookies & other baked goods. The cake had been made by Miriya`s grandma & the rest of the backed goods had been made by the cookie day people, AKA Miriya`s family. There was also an open bar.
"Ladies & gentlemen please join me in welcoming for the first time Mr. & Mrs. Evgeni Malkin," Army said as Cassie & Geno walked in hand in hand with smiles on their faces; everyone stood & clapped.
They walked to the center of the dance floor & a slow Russian song started to play. "I love you Evgeni," Cassie said.
"I love you too Cassandra," he said & kissed the tip of her nose.
"Don`t call me that," she said just before Geno`s lips were pressed against hers.
The song ended & they were first in line to get dinner. Shortly after people started getting in line the "waiters" filled the minor's glasses with non-alcoholic champagne & everyone else's with the real stuff. About ten minutes later Miriya & Jordan put their silverware down, picked up their glasses, & walked to the DJ's table.
"Geno & I were rookies together, we went through training camp for the first time, made the team together, played on the same line, & that year we both fought for rookie of the year. But because he`s a crazy Russian superstar he beat me & won the Calder." Everyone looked at Geno & laughed. "He is an amazing players, a great friend, & the perfect match for Cassie. Now Cassie, I met her before Miriya & I started going out. I was hanging out with Miriya & she asked if it was ok if a friend came to meet me." Miriya smiled as Jordan put his arm around her. "Since that day we`ve been great friends, Miriya considers her to be a sister & so do I. So Geno I guess this makes us brothers-in-law." Everyone laughed. "You two are amazing friends who are perfect for each other. I wish you both the best of luck in the future, but with the way you`ve hit it off I`m sure that you guys won`t need it. I love you guys."
"When I look back there`s one friend who`s always been there for me & that`s Cassie," They both smiled. She was there for me during the hardest time in my life. When I was in tenth grade I had my heart broken & she was there for me." Jordan tightened his grip around her. "She was the first person I told when I met Jordan, the first to know that he had asked me out & she was there when he proposed to me. We`ve made so many memories & have so many inside jokes. In I think it was sixth grade I invited her over to watch a Penguins' game & look what happened, now she`s marry one." Everyone laughed. "She would come over & watch games with me & we would stay up until five am talking. The first time she saw Ian Moran in a towel, yea that was my fault." Miriya & Cassie laughed. "The first time I met Geno was great, he towered over me just like the rest of the team, but he was so sweet. Though his English wasn`t great he would always talk to me whenever he got the chance. I remember helping him with his English on road trips & I guess it paid off. The first time Cassie & Geno went out it was a double date with Jordan & I, they were so cute together. I knew from that day that they were going to be together forever. Geno thank you for making my best friend so happy. Cass I`d say call if you ever need a baby-sitter, but that'll be kinda hard with me being on the road all the time; but I`ll take you up on your offer. "Again everyone laughed. "Congratulations to the both of you & best of luck. I love you both."
Everyone took a sip of champagne including Miriya, then everyone finished eating. Cassie & her dad walked to the center of the dance floor & 'Because You Love Me' By Celine Dion played. When the reception was over Cassie & Geno went to the house, grabbed the bags, & went to the airport. They got the airport at three-thirty am, checked their bags & went through security.
"Babe do you wanna get something to eat?" Geno asked.
"Sure."
They found a tiny store, Cassie got a large apple Danish & a pack of gum, Geno got a Danish & a bag of assorted fruit snacks.
"Baby can we get some coffee from Starbucks?"
"Whatever you want."
They went to Starbucks & Cassie was waiting for her Vanilla Bean Frap when a group of girls walked up to Geno & started asking for autographs & took pictures with him.
"So are you seeing anyone?" One girl asked.
But before Geno could say anything Cassie turned around, wrapped her arms around his waist & said, "Hi babe!" They kissed then Cassie turned to the girl, "Does that answer your question?"
The girls walked away angrily without a word.
"Sorry babe, but I couldn`t help it."
"It`s ok, I think it`s kinda sexy that you`re jealous," he said then kissed her.
They got their drinks & went to their gate to wait for their flight. Once their flight was called they got on & slept the whole times, since they had been up since early that morning. They landed in Honolulu at about three-thirty pm Pittsburgh time & eight-thirty am Hawaii time (there`s a five hour time difference.) They got to the hotel after finding their bags & unpacked. They found a little restaurant by the hotel & decided to get some breakfast. They both decided try something Hawaiian & had pineapple pancakes. After breakfast they went back to the hotel & up to their room.
"I know we just ate, but I`m hungry," Cassie said sitting on the bed next to Geno.
"Ok, we can call down to room service, what do you want?"
"I`m actually in the mood for bagels."
"Can I help you?"
"Yes could you please send two bagels to room three twenty-one."
"Faygo sir, like the soda?"
"No bagels."
"I`m sorry sir, I can`t understand you because of your accent, so if you want to come downstairs & get it," she said in a bitchy tone.
He put the phone down & walked out of the room slamming the door. Cassie followed but when she walked out of the room he was nowhere to be seen.
"Geno," she called after him & finally found him sitting on a bench on the hotel's beautiful garden. "Baby are you ok?" she asked sitting next to him & grabbing his hand.
"I hate it when people can`t understand what I`m saying because of my accent, they`re always so bitchy about it."
"Baby I love your accent & Miriya does, & Michelle too," she said, by this time they had started walking through the garden hand in hand.
"Michelle...that reminds me."
One day a couple of months before & before the playoffs had started Michelle & Geno were in the locker room waiting for Sid, Miriya Jordan & Cassie who were skating & they were playing checkers.
"King me," Geno said once getting his piece to the other side of the board.
"What, could you say that again?" Michelle said with a smile.
"I said," he paused. "Wait I know what you`re doing, you`re making fun of me & my accent."
"No Geno, I would never make fun of your accent, I love it," she said as she stood up.
Geno picker her up & carried her up to the end of the runway, her arms flailing all over & of course she was trying to get down. Everyone who was out of the ice laughed then Geno took Michelle & threw her in the dirty laundry. Michelle made a sad face & at this Geno started to laugh, now knowing that Geno was ok Michelle started to laugh too.
Back in the garden however Geno had started to tear a little but laugh at the same time, finishing the story of the checker game.
"Baby you now that Michelle loves you & your accent, & that she only messes with you because she knows that you`re sensitive," Cassie said stopping & turing towards him.
Geno grabbed her other hand & looked at her, "I know, but this lady was a real bitch about it.
"I know but don`t even worry about it. She`s not worth it & we`re on our honey moon, let`s enjoy ourselves."
"You`re right," he said & gave her a hug.
They walked back to their room & sat down on the bed.
"So what do you wanna do today?" Geno asked.
"I don`t know," she paused. "How `bout we got down to the ocean & play in the water like little kids."
"We could do that," he said as he pulled her closer & kissed her. "I love you Mrs. Malkin."
"I love you too Mr. Malkin."
They changed into their bathing suits, put t-shirts & shorts on top & walked down to the water. They played in the waves for a while splashing & throwing each other in the water.
"Excuse me, but could you help me make a sandcastle?" a little boy asked.
"Sure, why not," Geno said walking out the water & up to place that the boy had picked.
Geno & the little boy made an amazing sandcastle, Cassie on the other hand watched & took pictures. They got back to the hotel at about five-thirty.
"Babe, I`m gonna get a shower," Cassie said from the bath room.
"Ok, be quick. I have a surprise for you & we need to leave at seven."
When she got out of the shower there was a blue Hawaiian shirt, jeans, & a pair of sandals sitting on the bed. After she got changed she looked up there was Geno wearing a grass skirt, coconut bra, woven hat, & dancing to invisible music.
"Baby I love you , but please go change."
Geno put on a pair of khaki shorts, a Hawaiian shirt & sandals, then they went to the "secret place." That secret place happened to be a Luau. They ate dinner then dancers came out & had people come up & dance with them. Geno went up & started dancing.
"Well this explains that grass skirt & coconut bra."
When they got back to the hotel Geno closed the door & pushed Cassie up against it.
"I love you Geno," Cassie said just before his lips closed down on hers.
Later that night clothes were scattered across the floor & Geno lay asleep with Cassie`s head resting on his chest.
The next day they were hiking up a mountain to watch the Hawaiian sunset.
"I`m so happy to be here with you, you make me happier than anyone in the world. And I`m glad that I made you my wide, forever & ever," he said in Russian.
"What?" she asked unsure of what he said, but he just nodded his head. "Geno I really need to learn Russian."
He giggled, picked her up & spun her around. "I love you Cassandra," he said once they got to the top.
"GENO!!!"
"Sorry," he said in his sexy Russian accent.
This gave Cassie butterflies, he arched her back & laughed. They started off into the sunset & went back down the mountain to their suite. Geno picked her up & looked into her eyes. "I what you so bad," she said in German, she had learned this from Michelle. She wrapped her legs around his hips & he stumbled into the room.
"God Cass I need to learn German."
Cassie laughed as Geno hit the door closed & walked over to the white fluffy bed. He lay her down, unbuttoned her skirt & slipped her pink shirt over her head. Tiny beads of sweat ran down their bodies. She reached up to his shirt & slipped the green polo over his head. He kissed her neck & grabbed the strings of her bikini top with his teeth, untying it. The top fell to the floor & before long everything was on the floor.
About five minutes later there was a knock at the door, "House keeping."
"Come back," Geno tried to yell, but was completely out of breath, so she couldn`t understand it.
The person used their room key thinking that someone was in trouble. She first looked down at the scattered arrangement of clothes, worked her way over to the comforter that was sliding off the bed, then the smooth reflective surfaces of the two sweaty bodies. She slammed the door & ran. Cassie & Geno on the other hand completely ignored the interruption & continued doing what they were doing.
Sunday July fifth Cassie & Geno boarded a plane & got back to Pittsburgh that night. Once they got to their house they crashed.

Staal [A Jordan Staal Story] Thirty-Seven

Saturday morning Miriya rolled out of bed, got ready, & went to the store to get stuff for the party that night.
"Miriya?" someone said from behind her. "Miriya Soergel?"
She turned around & looked at the tall man who stood about three feet from her. "Matt, Matt Bloom?" she asked with a smile.
"I haven`t seen you in forever, how have you been?" he asked giving her a hug.
"I`ve been good, you?"
"Ok, what`s new?"
"I got married last August & announce for the Penguins."
"Matthew...oh there you are," a women a little taller than Miriya said. "Who is this?"
"This is an old friend of mine Miriya Soergel."
"Miriya Staal now."
"The Penguins' announcer?" the girl asked.
"Yes actually."
"Congratulations on winning the cup."
"Thank you."
"So Miriya this is my wife Jamie," Matt said.
"Well it was nice meeting you & nice seeing you again Matt, but I really have to get going."
She went to the checkout & the guy at the checkout counter smiled at her while he was bagging the groceries.
"Congratulations on winning the cup Mrs. Staal, can I have your autograph?"
"Sure why not." She signed a grocery bag & went out to the car.
"Mrs. Staal can we have your autograph?" A group of teenage girls asked in the parking lot.
"Sure, but call me Miriya," she signed for all of them, got a picture with them & was about to start her car when someone knocked on the window. She rolled down the window & the person's eyes lit up.
"Mrs. Staal could you please sign this for me?"
She got out of the car & gave him a hug. "Sure Mr. Pitts, who would you like me to make this out to?"
"Um...me it that`s ok?"

"You`re welcome, but James you`ve known me since ninth grade please call me Miriya."

"You`re welcome," she said, gave him another hug, got in her car & drove home.
"Hey baby," Jordan said as Miriya passed him & into the kitchen.
She put the stuff down in the kitchen & walked back into the living room where Jordan was sitting on the couch.
"I swear it was see everyone you know day."
"Shopping was that bad?"
"I ran into Matt & his wife in the store then went to checkout & the cashier asked me for my autograph. So finally I got out to the parking lot & a bunch of girls ask me for my autograph. I get into my car & am ready to drive away when someone knocks on my window & it`s James. I signed for him & now here I am anything exciting happen here?"
"I woke up, ate breakfast, & took the pool cover off."
"Oh what an exciting day, I think I`m gonna take a nap for an hour then we can start getting stuff ready."
About an hour later Miriya got up off the couch, went into the kitchen, & made herself a sandwich. Jordan walked behind her & spun her around.
"I`m gonna go for a quick swim, you wanna come?" He asked after kissing her on the cheek.
"Sure I`ll meet you out there in a few," kissed him, then he went out to the pool & she went to change into her bathing suit. She walked back out in her black & gold bikini, put her towel down, went to the deep end & jumped in.
They swam for a while then went inside & showered. At around four Miriya put chips into bowls, made sure that there was ice in the drink bucket & picked out some music.
"Baby I`m gonna go start the burgers."
"Aww thanks, but you know I always grill."
I thought maybe you`d be nice & let me do it just once."
"I would let you, but you know that all the guys love my burgers."
"Fine you have all the fun."
Miriya headed out to the grill & added her dad's famous sauce to the burgers. At five forty-five the guys started showing up.
"Hey Jordan did you make the burgers?" Army asked.
"No Miriya did."
"Oh good it`s safe to eat them then," he said with a laugh.
Everyone grabbed a shot glass & filled it with something that was in Miriya & Jordan`s bar.
"Here's to a great season & what we have to show for it, here's to the cup," Sid said.
"Here, here," everyone said then drank their shot, everyone except Miriya.
Everyone put their glasses down & Michelle came over to Miriya, "Can I talk to you for minute?"
They walked into the kitchen & stood by the counter. "What`s up?" Miriya asked.
"Ok you were totally smashed the night before your wedding & a minute ago you didn`t even drink a single shot. What's up with you?"
"I`m pregnant."
"Oh my God, when did you find out?"
"Thursday before the game."
"Does anyone know?"
"Besides you & Jordan no, we were planning on telling everyone tonight."
They walked back outside & Jordan put his arm around Miriya.
"Everyone can we have your attention," Jordan said.
"Before you all get too drunk Jordan & I have an announcement to make," Miriya said & paused. "We`re going to have a baby!"
Everyone clapped & cheered & came over to congratulate them. Cassie was one of the first to come over. "I guess you`ll be taking me up on that baby-sitting offer." she said with a laugh.
"I guess so," Jordan said. He put his arm around Miriya`s waist & kissed her. "I guess so."
The next day after everyone left Miriya was cleaning up the yard & Jordan was making lunch. He set the food down on the dinning room table, went outside & put his arm around Miriya.
"So I haven`t told my parents yet, I was planning on telling them when we go up tomorrow with the cup," Jordan said.
"Sounds good to me, wonder how they`re going to react."
"I guess we`ll find out."
"Baby get up," Jordan said the next morning after kissing her cheek.
She groaned, got out of bed & got ready. Once they were both ready & everything was in the car they went to the airport, went through security, & went to the gate.
"I think we`re in the airport more than some of the pilots," Jordan said & put his arm around Miriya.
"I`d believe it," she said & put her head down on his shoulder.
"Daddy it`s Uncle Jay & Aunt Memo," A little boy said at baggage claim in the airport in Ontario.
The tall man standing next to him let go of his hand & the little boy ran up to Jordan & Miriya. Miriya dropped her bags, picked up the little boy & gave him a hug.
"Aunt Memo."
"Hey Adam how are you?"
"Good, where`s your cup?"
Miriya laughed as the tall man walked up to them & took Adam.
"Hey guy Congratulations."
"Thanks," they both said.
They all went back to Mom & Dad's house & were sitting in the living room taking pictures with the cup.
Later that night everyone was sitting around the table eating dinner & talking about the cup. The whole family was there Eric, Tanya, Adam, Marc, his wife, Jared, his fiancée Andrea, & of course mom & dad.
"Mom, dad, everyone, we have an announcement to make," Jordan said.
Everyone stopped talking & looked over at Miriya & Jordan.
"We`re gonna have a baby," Miriya said & smiled.

Staal [A Jordan Staal Story] Thirty-Six

"Hey Staalsy."
"Yea what`s up Army?"
"What do you think our chances of wining this are?"
"The game tonight or the series?"
"Either."
"I don`t know, both you guys & the Hawks are great teams & you`ve proved that to this point. I`m not one to make predictions so let`s just sit back & see how it all turns out."
"Alright, thanks Staalsy."
"No problem, good luck tonight."
"You too."
"A Chicago goal scored by Jonathan Toews assisted by Dave Bolland & James Wisniewski at 15:36, Toews from Bolland & Wisniewski at 15:36," The PA announcer in Pittsburgh said.
The Hawks had taken a 1-0 lead but that didn`t dampen the Guins mood, they still skated hard & made crisp passes. One of those passes that was made in the neutral zone was intercepted & taken back to the Guins zone.
"A Chicago goal scored by Cam Barker assisted by Rene Bourque at 18:56, Barker from Bourque at 18:56."
"Well Bourquey it`s the end of one & the Hawks have a 2-0 lead over the Guins."
"That`s true Staalsy but there`s still a lot of hockey left to be played."
Top start the period Kris Versteeg took a hooking call at 5:00. Staal`s line was out to take the face-off, to change it up Max took center & won the face-off. After some cycling they finally shot & it went passed the Hawks goaltender.
"A Pittsburgh goal scored by number twelve Ryan Malone assisted by Jordan Staal & Max Talbot at 5:24, Malone from Staal & Talbot at 5:24."
Somehow Patrick Sharp managed to stuff the biscuit between the post & Fleury`s pad when he was down in the butterfly position to give the Hawks a 3-1 lead.
"A Chicago goal scored by Patrick Sharp assisted by Martin Havlat & Jason Williams at 10:03, Sharp from Havlat & Williams at 10:03."
"A Chicago goal scored by Patrick Kane assisted by Brent Seabrook & Duncan Keith at 13:08, Kane from Seabrook & Keith at 13:08."
"One minute remaining in the period, one minute."
The whistle blew & Jordan was slowly getting up from the ice. The trainer came out to help him up & handed him a towel. Everyone clapped as he skated to the runway & quickly went to the locker room. The ref went to the box & indicated the penalty.
"A Chicago penalty to Patrick Kane four minutes for high sticking at 19:13, Kane four for high sticking at 19:13."
Up in the commentator’s box it had just gone to a commercial & Miriya awaited the start of the third period.
"The Penguins make a whole sale change & the Staal line is out. Well Bourquey it looks like he`s fine & will just have another scar. He shoots, he scores Jordan Staal, he comes back from an injury to get the Guins back in the game."
"A Pittsburgh goal scored by number eleven Jordan Staal assisted by number nineteen Ryan Whitney & number forty-four Brooks Orpik at :48, Staal from Whitney & Orpik at :48."
The game ended with the Hawks winning 6-4 with an empty-netter by Kris Versteeg at 19:36. The two other Penguins' goals were both even strength & scored by Tyler Kennedy & Sidney Crosby. Chicago's fifth goal was scored by Adam Burish at 15:02 from Jonathan Toews & Patrick Sharp.
Miriya & Bourquey stayed in the booth & did the post game which somehow was longer than usual & they did some paper work. Once all the paperwork was done Miriya went down to the locker room & Jordan was already showered & waiting by his stall.
"You`re late," Jordan said putting his arms around her.
"I didn`t know I had a set time that I had to be here."
"You don`t, but you`re normally down here earlier."
"I know, I`m sorry baby, I had some paperwork to do."
They head out to the bus & went back to the hotel. They changed into their pajamas, brushed their teeth & got into bed.
"You played amazing baby," she said & kissed his cheek.
"I love you," he said & put his forehead against hers. She ran her hand along his cheek.
"Ahh," he said quickly pulling away.
"Baby I`m sorry," she said & kissed him then briefly pulled away, "Better?"
He pressed his lips back against hers, "Mmhmm," he said into the kiss & smiled.
"Well then Mr. Staal I take it we`re not gonna get much sleep tonight?"
"Nope," he said with a sly smile as she slid his shirt over his head.
"Good evening everyone & welcome to game two of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Pittsburgh Penguins & the Chicago Black Hawks."
"Well Staalsy the Guins are coming off a 6-4 loss the other night to this Hawks team."
"But it`s not because of a lack of hard work, I talked to the team this morning & they`re ready for this game."
"A Chicago goal scored by Rene Bourque..." The PA announcer said at 16:59 of the first period.
"Bourque's goal gives the Hawks a 1-0 lead, but Bourquey you know that the Guins have been a great come from behind team for the last seven or eight years."
"A Chicago penalty Rene Bourque two minutes for tripping at 4"30.
"He shots & scores, what a beautiful goal," Miriya said just twenty-seven seconds into the power play. "Scuderi ties it up at one at 4:57 of the second."
"A Pittsburgh goal scored by Rob Scuderi assisted by James McGuire & Marc-Andre Fleury at 4:57..."
"He shoots & it`s in, Evgeni Malkin gives the Pens a 2-1 lead."
"Staalsy you said it before, they`re a good come from behind team & in less than a minute they get two goals to take the lead."
"A Pittsburgh goal scored by Evgeni Malkin assisted by Mark Eaton at 5:42, Malkin from Eaton at 5:42"
To finish the game the Guins scored two more goals, Kris Letang from Brooks Orpik at 14:16 of the second & Ryan Whitney on the power play unassisted at 12:33 of the third. They left the arena with at 4-1 win & the next day headed to Pittsburgh with the series tied at one.
"Jordan Staal at 19:38, Talbot from Malone & Staal at 19:38."
"A beautiful save made by Fleury," Bourquey interrupted Miriya`s call of the game.
"But the rebound gets passed him & the Hawks tie it up at one at 13:13. David Koci from Cam Barker & Dustin Byfuglien."
"Armstrong has the biscuit in his own end, almost off-sides on himself. Drop pass to Malkin, Malkin slap shot, blocker stop, rebound Sidney Crosby, he shoots & scores. Sidney Crosby gives the Penguins a 2-1 lead at 17:35 of the second," Miriya said.
"At 8:16, Bolland from Wisnieski & Keith at 8:16."
"Well Staalsy the game is tied at two & when we come back it`s overtime between the Pens & Hawks."
"A Chicago goal scored by Kris Versteeg from Cam Barker at 3:15..."
"Well folks that`s it for tonight the next game is here in Chicago Friday night, until then goodnight," Bourquey said.
The next day Miriya & Jordan slept in & spent the day at home watching movies from when they were growing up. Cassie, Geno, Sid & Michelle went out to lunch. They were sitting in a booth waiting for their food.
"So what do you guys wanna do today?" Sid asked.
"Well we`re going to Miriya & Jordan`s for dinner, but before that I have no idea" Geno said.
"You know what I haven`t done in a long time," Michelle said as the waitress set the food on the table.
"Nope," Cassie said.
"Bowling," she said with a smile.
That`s what they did, after they were finished eating they head to the local bowling alley. It was the third frame & Sid walked up & grabbed his neon green ball. He put some spin on it, but it was a little too much & it went into the gutter about halfway down the lane.
"It`s ok baby you still have another turn," Michelle said & gave him a hug as they waited for his ball.
He picked it up, slid his fingers into the holes, & went to roll, somehow his foot slipped out from under him & the next thing he knew he was sitting & the ball was rolling down the lane.
"I don`t know how you did that, but I`m sure it hurt," Geno said trying to hold back his laughter.
"It did hurt," he said with a laugh. "I have no idea how that happened."
They finished their game, Geno won & went to Miriya & Jordan`s house for dinner. 'Ding Dong' 'BARK, BARK' Mo can up to the door & started jumping up & down.
"Mo get down," Jordan said opening the door. "Oh hey guys come on in, Miriya`s in the kitchen finishing up dinner."
Once everything was ready everyone sat down in the dinning room for dinner.
"So how was your day today?" Geno asked.
"Good, we slept in & watched movies," Jordan said.
"Did you actually watch them or did you 'watch' them?" Cassie asked making air quotes.
"Believe it or not we saw the whole movie," Miriya said with a smile. "How `bout you guys?"
"We went bowling," Cassie said putting food on her plate.
"Geno won & Sid fell on his ass," Michelle said & laughed.
"It`s a good thing our chairs are padded huh Sid?" Jordan asked with a smirk.
The next day, Thursday they went to the airport & were on their way to the windy city to take on the Hawks in game four.
"I sure enjoyed my two days off Staalsy did you?"
"I did Bourquey, hello everyone & welcome to game four of the Stanley Cup Finals. The Hawks lead the series 2-1 but the Guins have been playing well."
Crush's stick went across a Hawk's stick & it broke, a Penguin got a hold of the puck & the ref blew the whistle, "Two minutes for slashing."
"Well Staalsy we`re forty seconds into the power play, Malkin`s penalty kill line is out & the face-off is in the Guins zone."
"What is the Bourquey, Kennedy is going to take the face-off."
"The Penguins have something up their sleeves right now."
"He wins the draw, carries it up, cross ice pass, Malkin one timer. He shoots & scores Evgeni Malkin gives the Penguins a 1-0 lead with a short handed goal at 4:30."
"A Chicago goal scored by Duncan Keith assisted by Brent Seabrook & Adam Burish, Keith from Seabrook & Burish at 6:13," the PA announcer said early in the second.
Nine minutes later they did it again taking the lead at 15:29, Patrick Kane took a slapper & put it behind Fleury, Patrick Sharp & Dustin Byguglien assisted.
Chicago scored again at 3:34 of the third, Jason Williams from Jonathan Toews & Cam Barker. But at 4:30 Keith put Letang into the sailing hard into the boards. He was slow getting up but when he did everyone clapped & he skated slowly to the bench.
"A Pittsburgh goal scored by number six James McGuire assisted by Marc-Andre Fleury at 5:04, McGuire from Fleury at 5:04 a power play goal."
Five minutes later at 10:43 the Guins got another goal to tie it up at three with help form Jordan Staal. With a little less than a minute left Fleury went to the bench so that they could have an extra attacker out. Rene Bourque scored an unassisted empty-net goal at 19:42 to take game four & to lead the series 3-1.
It was back to Pittsburgh that night & the next day was game five, the only first period goal was scored by Rene Bourque from Dustin Byguglien at 5:39.
"A Pittsburgh goal scored by number three Mark Eaton assisted by number nineteen Ryan Whitney & number thirty Dany Sabourin at 6:26, Eaton from Whitney & Sabourin at 6:26," John Barbaroe said in the second period as the sell-out crowd sat back down.
"Two minutes holding the stick," the ref said as Tuomo Ruutu skated to the sin bin at 13:00.
"Kennedy from Hall & Christensen at 13:13, a power play goal."
The Guins came away with their second win of the series to make it 3-2. Game six was going to take place in Chicago on Tuesday which meant that they had a day of rest & day of travel. On the day off nothing super exciting happened, the guys all got together at the arena to work on stuff to get their momentum going into the next game.
"Baby I`m gonna go," Jordan said as Miriya roller out of bed at nine that morning.
"Where you going?" she asked walking into the bathroom.
"They guys, we all thought we should get together & use our day off to practice & keep out momentum."
"I wanna come," she said with a smile.
"Alright, I`m gonna grab something to eat, I`ll meet you in the car in like ten minutes."
"Kay," she said walking to her dresser as Jordan went out to the kitchen. She put on a pair of shorts & a Guins t-shirt, which was her normal practice clothes & appropriate for the warm weather that awaited her outside. After putting on a pair of flip flops & grabbing a pair of socks she went out to the kitchen, grabbed a banana & went out to the car.
The makeshift practice went well & ended at somewhere around twelve. A bunch of people decided to go to Eat `n Park to get lunch.
"So Sid where`s Michelle?" Miriya asked.
"At home, she was asleep when I left."
"So what do you think of the series now?" Army asked.
"Like I said before I don't make predictions, we'll see what happens. there`s two game left and you're down in the series, but you're a great come back team. If the Hawks don't win Tuesday then we'll find out on Thursday now won't we."
"I guess so," Geno said.
The next day they went to Chicago, they got there at around one and went off to do their own things for the rest of the day. To start the game Tumo Ruutu scored an unassisted goal at 4:56 of the first. Sidney Crosby tied it up at 10:55 of the first with help from Evgeni Malkin and Colby Armstrong. The Guins took the lead at 41:20 of the second with Evgeni Malkin scored from his knee with Sidney Crosby and James McGuire. But the Hawks tied it up at two at 11:07, Kris Versteeg scored with help from Patrick Kane and Tumo Ruutu.
"A Pittsburgh goal scored by Brooks Orpik from Kris Letang and Marc- Andre Fleury at 1:04, Orpik from Letang and Fleury at 1:04"
But the Hawks tied it up again at 5:56 a goal by Patrick Sharp from Cam Barker and Duncan Keith. Only a minute later the Hawks took the lead when Adam Burish scored with help from Dave Bolland and Brent Sea back at 7:07. With a little lest then four minutes left Ryan Whitney found a space between the goalies pad and the side post pushing the puck in at 16:15, Mark Eaton and Ryan Malone received the assist. And at the end of a back and forth regulation game was tied at 4-4.
"This year's playoffs have been filled with over time games. the dramatic came seven that the Penguins here went into triple overtime and would have went to a forth but Brooks Orpik with just seven seconds remaining. Game three of this series went to double over time and Kris Versteeg got his team the win with a goal at 3:15."
"That's true Bourquey; we'll see how this one ends up."
The first over time went scoreless and second over time started.
"Malone cross ice pass to Talbot, he shoots stopped, rebound and Jordan Staal scores to win it in double overtime. The Penguins are going to play a game seven against these Chicago Black Hawks in Pittsburgh on Thursday night," Miriya said and smiled.
The next day was spent on the bus until two o'clock when they got back to Pittsburgh. Everyone rested and prepared for game seven, a hockey players dream to complete for the Stanley Cup in a game seven of the finals.
"Chicago penalty to Jason Williams two minutes for interference at 3:47..." John Barbaroe said early in the first.
"Ten seconds left on the power play Malkin, he shoots and scored with just four seconds left on the power play."
"A Pittsburgh goal scored by number seventy-one Evgeni Malkin assisted by forty-four Brooks Orpik and number nineteen Ryan Whitney at 5:43, Malkin from Orpik and Whitney at 5:43 a power play goal."
The Guins took the 1-0 lead to the first intermission and came out with a smile to start the second. At 14:29 Jordan Staal scored to take a 2-0 lead with help from Ryan Malone and James McGuire. And four minutes later Sidney Crosby netted the Pens third goal of the night, Colby Armstrong and Kris Letang assisted at 18:52.
"A Chicago goal scored by Martin Havlat assisted by Tumo Ruutu and Jason Williams at 2:30, Havlat from Ruutu and Williams at 2:30," John said in the third.
"This is it Bourquey, there's just ten seconds left. Its game seven of the Stanley Cup Finals, the Chicago Black Hawks verse the Pittsburgh Penguins in Pittsburgh. The Guins are up 3-1 and the face off is in the Hawks zone."
"You said it Staalsy, the Guins have the chance to bring Stanley Cup number three to the Burgh."
"The pucks dropped, Jordan Staal won it back to his defense, Ryan Whitney, he winds up, just five seconds, Bourquey, Whit shoots but is stopped, Staal tries for the rebound but the final buzzer goes off. The Pittsburgh Penguins have just won the Stanley Cup!"
"Congratulations on a great season Staalsy, it's been great calling games with you," Bourquey said during the commercial break.
"You too Bourquey," Miriya said taking her headset off then ran out of the commentators box and down to the ice surface.
Sid skated to the table at Center ice and picked up the cup. The smile on his face was unbelievable, like never before. Everyone was getting the cup and being interviewed. it came to Miriya who raised it above her head. Jordan skated over to her and got a picture with her and the cup > Army came over and took the cup from them.
"You did amazing boys, all your hard work finally paid off," Miriya said loud enough for the team to hear.
"You were right Staalsy this was our year," Bugsy said.
"Congrats baby," Miriya said. "The third cup has finally come."
"I don't think anything could make me happier," Jordan said with a smile.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that," Miriya paused. "Jordan, we're gona have a baby!"
"I love you," he said, picked her up and spun her around.
"I love you too," She said and he kissed her.
"When did you find out?"
"This morning, but I didn't want you to focus on anything but the game."
"We have to fix up a room and get clothes and think of a name."
"I know baby, but right now, tonight let's think about the win, let's think about the cup."

Staal [A Jordan Stal Story] Thirty-Five

Later that day Miriya woke up earlier than Jordan from the pre-game nap & decided to make a nice game night dinner.
"Mmm something smells good," Jordan said while yawning & walking into the kitchen.
"Pasta," Miriya said & went to the dinner room to set the two plates down.
By the time they were eating it was about four-thirty & they both went to get ready for the game. Once they got to the arena the entire team looked really nervous.
"Ok boys it`s not game six in the Eastern Conference semi-finals. You don`t have to worry about winning, it`s not game seven it`s game six & you`re leading the series three game to two. You could lose this one & come back & take it in game seven, but that`s not what I want & I`m sure that`s not what you want. But for now just calm down, good luck, & just go out there & have fun."
The guys started suiting up & Miriya went up to hers spot in the booth after one last kiss. Seven-thirty finally came & it was game time.
"Hello everyone & welcome to game six between your Pittsburgh Penguins & the Boston Bruins. The Guins are leading the series three games to two & could move on to the Eastern Conference Finals with a win tonight. Knock on wood," She said just before she knocked on a little block of wood she had with her.
"Ladies & gentlemen Elvis has just left the building, Jordan Staal & Evgeni Malkin both have hat tricks tonight, the Guins lead the B`s six to two, & there`s just over two minutes left in this game six. The B`s could come back but with the way Fleury`s playing tonight it`s highly improbable," again she knocked on wood.
"We`re going to the Conference Final baby," Jordan said when Miriya walked into the locker room.
"I know baby, congrats on your hat trick," she said & kissed his cheek.
Jordan went to shower & Miriya went over to Geno. "Geno congrats on the hat trick, you boys really deserved the win."
"Thanks Mir."
"Hey Staalsy."
"Yea Army what`s up?"
"What got into your boy today?"
"Oh nothing," she said trying to look innocent.
"Right, well keep it up," he said with a laugh, gave her a hug, & walked away.
Back at the house that night Miriya went to take a shower, she turned the water on to just the right temperature; since she had music on her didn`t hear the door click closed. The next thing she new there was a set of strong, gentle arms around her stomach.
"You my big bad hockey player are amazing," he said as he spun her around.
He pushed her against the wall & she put her arms around his neck, "I love you."
"I love you too Jordan."
The next morning Miriya woke up & went to the living room to watch TV so that she didn`t wake Jordan up. She turned on ESPN & the standings for the semi-finals came up. Pittsburgh had beaten Boston four games to two, Carolina beat Washington four games to three, Chicago had beaten Vancouver four games to three, & Los Angeles beat Anaheim four games to one.
Jordan woke up, heard the TV & knew where Miriya was. "Morning baby," he said with a raspy voice & coughed.
"Baby you were fine last night, what happened?"
"I don`t know, but my throat hurts."
"You stay in bed & I`ll take care of you today."
"But I was planning on going down to the arena to skate," he tired getting out of bed.
"No skating for you, get back into bed & I`ll go make you toast & tea."
Jordan got back into bed & pulled the covers back up. Miriya kissed his forehead & went to the kitchen. She came back with tea with honey & lemon, some toast with butter & grape jelly, & some fruit.
"Here ya go, eat up."
"Can I watch a movie?"
"Yes Jordan you can watch a movie, what would you like to watch?"
"Potc 3."
Miriya put the movie in & sat down next to Jordan on the bed.
"Mommy will I be able to play when the next series starts?" he asked in a little kid voice.
"If you stay in bed, sleep, & do what tell you to do today you`ll be better by tomorrow & I`ll let you go skate."
"Ok, come here my big bad hockey announcer."
Miriya moved over next to him, put her head on his shoulder, & he put his arm around her. For awhile they were both saying lines from the movie, but then they both fell asleep. Just as Will was coming back to see Elizabeth & his son Miriya woke up. It was about eleven forty-five so she went to the kitchen to make lunch.
Jordan yawned, "Do I smell tomato soup?"
"Yes you do," Miriya walked into the bedroom with two bowls of soup, saltine crackers, & ginger ale.
"I know you were watching ESPN this morning, did you happen to see who we`re playing in the conference final?"
"I did, we`ll be seeing a lot of Eric," she said with a smile.
"Oh boy, it`ll be like that year when the Ducks played the Devils & the Niedermayer brothers were playing each other."
"Yea but that was more intense, that was for the Cup this is just the conference finals."
"True, who`s playing for the West?"
"The Hawks are playing the Kings.
Two days later Jordan`s cough was gone, & not much later it was time to start the conference finals. Game one, two, & five were in Pittsburgh, three & four were in Carolina. The Guins started off the series well & won game one three to one, but the Canes came back & took game two with a three two overtime win. The Penguins took the lead again winning game three five to four, but game four left the series tied at two when the Canes mustarded up a three two win. Five was taken by the Pens four two, but again the Canes came back in game six with a three one win.
"Alright boys, don`t be nervous. Yes it`s game seven in the Conference Finals, but you`ve played hard all year & have made me proud to be your announcer. I want you to go there & have fun, don`t concentrate on winning, concentrate on being the best that you can be. I love you boys & good luck," Miriya said before leaving the visitor's locker room & going up to the press box.
"I have a feeling this is going to be an interesting game," a smile came to Bourquey's face.
"Me too."
"Good evening everyone & welcome to game seven of the Eastern Conference Finals, where tonight the Carolina Hurricanes take on your Pittsburgh Penguins. The series is tied at three & both teams have an equal chance of moving on to the Stanley Cup Finals."
"That`s exactly right Staalsy & I have a feeling that we have an interesting game ahead of us tonight."
"At the end of one it`s Carolina with a goal from my brother-in-law Eric Staal & Pittsburgh nothing," Miriya said at the end of the first period stating up at the score board.
In the second the Guins got their first goal of the game at 3:02, Jordan pushed the puck behind Ward with some help from Ryan Malone & Ryan Whitney. Twelve minutes later Malkin netted a goal to give the Guins a two one lead, it came at 15:06 & the helpers went to Sidney Crosby & Colby Armstrong.
The clock was winding down, two minutes left Cole got a pass in the slot & one timed it to tie the game at two. It was scored at 18:27 & Ladd & Gleason received the assists.
"Bourquey called it at the start & it has turned out to be an interesting game. At the end of forty minutes the Canes & the Guins are tied at two. Both Staal brothers scored the first goals for their respective teams, Evgeni Malkin scored to give the Guins the lead but Eric Cole tied it up late in the period."
"We have twenty minutes left to play & I`m excited to see who comes out with the win."
"We`ve got a lot of talent & they`ve put on a great show so far, we`ll see which group of super stars can pull it off."
Both teams skated back out & five minutes in the Canes took the lead again. Mike Commodore had gotten a lead pass in the defensive zone from his goalie Cam Ward & was off on a breakaway. But exactly one minute later at 6:15 Crosby netted the Guins third goal to tie the game. Malkin got his second point of the night & Mark Eaton also helped out.
"Staalsy at the end of sixty minutes of play we`re tied at three, from here we go to a twenty minute sudden death overtime period."
"For those fans who don`t know, if the two teams are still tied at the end of the first overtime it will not got to a shootout like in the regular season. The playoffs are the only time that teams can go to more than one overtime period."
"Thanks Staalsy, well here's the opening face-off."
No one scored in the first twenty minutes & it was the first time that Miriya was going to announce a game that went to more than one overtime period. The second overtime ended in the same way as the first, with the Guins & the Canes tied at three. The third overtime was about to start & everyone on the bench looked tired, but the fans in the stands were cheering for the home team & waiting for a winner.
The opening face-off was dropped to start the third overtime & the seconds slowly ticked off the clock high above the ice. Both team were making crisp tape to tape passes & had great rushes just as they had throughout the rest of the game.
"Fleury makes a beauty of a pass out to Penguins' defenseman Kris Letang. Letang takes it up to just outside the hash. If the Guins want to end this they have to do it quickly they have just over ten seconds left. Letang passes to his defense partner Brooks Orpik, there`s no one on him."
"No one knew he made the pass Staalsy."
"Orpik he shoots, did it go in? It did Brooks Orpik shoots & scores. An unlikely goal scorer in the Penguins' number forty-four, but he wins the game in triple overtime against the Carolina Hurricanes to take the Guins to the Stanley Cup Finals."
Miriya did the closing segment then headed down to the locker room. Everyone was gathered around Brooksy & cheering knowing that they had finally made it. After eight years of hard work they were finally going to the Stanley Cup Finals. Miriya looked at her cell phone & saw that it was almost one o'clock but didn`t care.
"Brooksy I never would have expected you to score the game winner. Not that I doubted you or anything, 'cause I don`t doubt any of my boys. What I`m trying to say is good job, it was a great goal."
"Thanks Staalsy," he said giving her a hug.
Jordan walked over & tapped her on the shoulder. "Did you see Eric`s face when we won it?"
"I did baby, not as well as you, but I could see it."
"Priceless, were going to the finals & I`m going to take a shower."
"Ok baby," she said & gave him a kiss on the cheek.
He went to the showers & Miriya went to Jamesy's stall.
"What`s up Staalsy?"
"Just wanted to say that I`m sorry for giving you such a hard time at the beginning of the year. You`ve worked really hard & deserve to be on this team."
"Hey no hard feelings & thanks. I`m sorry for hittin' on you in training camp, you & Gronk are perfect for each other."
"Thanks, are you gonna be at Geno & Cassie`s wedding?"
"Yep, wouldn`t miss it. I love spending time with the team."
"Jamesy"
"Gronk, how are ya?"
"Pretty good, baby you know who won for the West?"
"Yea for once their game ended before ours, you`re gonna be playing the Hawks."
"Sweet," James said. "Well I`m gonna get outta here, see ya soon."
"Hopefully not too soon," Jordan said as James started to leave. "Alright baby let`s get outta here."
